Healthy Apple Nachos With Almond Butter - A Quick, Crunchy Snack

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2–3 crisp apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith)
  • 3–4 tablespoons almond butter (natural, creamy; stir well)
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or pure maple syrup (optional, for a light drizzle)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped almonds or other nuts (walnuts, pecans)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs (optional)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt (optional, but highly recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (to keep apples from browning)

Method

  1. Prep the apples: Wash, core, and thinly slice. Toss slices with lemon juice to slow browning.
  2. Arrange the base: Fan the apple slices on a large plate or platter so they overlap slightly.
  3. Warm the almond butter: If it’s thick, microwave 10–15 seconds or stir in a splash of warm water until it’s drizzle-ready.
  4. Drizzle generously: Spoon or zigzag the almond butter over the apples so most slices get some.
  5. Add a touch of sweetness: If using, lightly drizzle honey or maple syrup over the top.
  6. Top for texture: Sprinkle chopped nuts, coconut, and chocolate chips or cacao nibs evenly.
  7. Finish with salt: Add a small pinch of flaky sea salt to sharpen flavors and balance sweetness.
  8. Serve immediately: Apple nachos are best fresh, while the slices are crisp and the drizzle is glossy.
